第23章 受動態の意味と用法
この形は元来「～させる」「～してもらう」のように使役の意味に用いられるほか、「～される」（被害）といった受動的な意味に用いられることは前にも述べました。たとえば、
A knock at the door interrupted my train of thought.
（ドアのノックが私の思考を妨げた）
これを普通の受動態にかえると
My train of thought was interrupted by a knock at the door.
となりますが、これを次のように主語をIにし、「have ＋ 目的語 ＋ 過去分詞」の形を利用して意味上の受動の文をつくることもできます。
I had my train of thought interrupted by a knock at the door.
（ドアのノックで私は思考を中断された）
同様に、
They suspended his licence for two months.
→① His licence was suspended for two months.
② He had his licence suspended for two months.
（彼は2ヵ月間免許を停止された）
